My Works: A Comprehensive Look at My Publications
Hello again! It’s Fernando Llanos. Having given you a brief overview of my journey in the “About Me” article, I thought it fitting to delve deeper into the core of my academic life – my publications. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to contribute to the body of knowledge in psycholinguistics, particularly with a focus on neurolinguistics. Each paper, each article, has been a stepping stone, marking the evolution of my thoughts and understandings in the field.
Early Contributions
My initial forays into academic publishing were heavily centered on neurolinguistics. As a budding researcher, my first couple of papers sought to bridge gaps in our understanding of how the brain processes multiple languages. It was during this phase that I published one of my most cited papers in the collection titled, “Research Papers About Neurolinguistics“. This paper, “Neural Pathways in Bilingual Brain Processing”, provided a foundation for many subsequent works.
A Snapshot of My Published Works
As I transitioned from the foundational stages of my research into deeper explorations, I’ve had the honor of contributing to various publications that echo my growing expertise and collaborations in the field. Here’s a glance at some of them:
Llanos, F., Gnanateja, G. N., & Chandrasekaran, B. (in preparation). Sensory representation of speech covariation patterns in frequency following responses to lexical tones.
Gnanateja, G. N., Rupp, K., Llanos, F., Pernia, M., Sadapogan, S., Abel, T., & Chandrasekaran, B. (submitted). Deconstructing the cortical sources of frequency following responses to speech: A cross-species approach.
Llanos, F., German, J. S., Gnanateja, G. N., & Chandrasekaran, B. (2021). The neural processing of pitch accents in continuous speech. Neuropsychologia, 158, 107883.

Llanos, F., & Francis, A. L. (2016). The effects of language experience and speech context on the phonetic accommodation of English-accented Spanish voicing. Language and Speech, 60(1), 3-26.

Reflecting and Looking Ahead
As I take a moment to reflect upon my body of work, I’m filled with gratitude. Gratitude for the mentors who guided me, the peers who challenged me, and the curious minds who read and engaged with my publications. Each paper represents a piece of the puzzle, a step closer to understanding the intricate dance between our brain and our languages.
My journey, captured through these publications, is a testament to my commitment to the field of psycholinguistics. As I continue my academic journey, I am ever enthusiastic about exploring new territories and asking novel questions. With the ever-evolving landscape of psycholinguistics, there’s always more to learn, more to discover. And if you ever wish to delve deeper into my journey, my motivations, and my aspirations, do refer back to the “About Me” article. It provides a more personal insight into the man behind the papers.
The writing process is a multi-faceted journey that encompasses a series of stages, each critical to the development of coherent, impactful, and well-crafted texts. Beginning with prewriting, where ideas are brainstormed and outlines formed, writers embark on a creative exploration of their topics. This is followed by drafting, where those preliminary plans are expanded into a more structured form.
